It’s great to be back! We’ve settled back into our routine after Spring Break and are now preparing for state testing, which begins the first week of May. The remainder of the school year will go quickly, and I want to be intentional about savoring this time together with our Cats.

As a community, we will each continue to grieve the loss of Mrs. Laberge in our own ways. My hope is that we can also find moments of joy and gratitude for the time we share here at Cougar Valley. School is about more than academics—it’s about creating a space where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where we lift one another up.

That’s why you’ve seen multiple posts asking for volunteers. We truly value having our families present and engaged on a daily basis, working in partnership to support our Cats. I hope you will consider joining us—you belong here, and we need you.

Dear 3rd–5th Grade Families,

Our Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) will begin in May for students in grades 3–5. These assessments are an opportunity for students to show what they have learned this year and demonstrate their growth.

We also ask that families try to avoid scheduling appointments & vacations during testing days whenever possible so students can complete their assessments with their class.
